Shark Tank Season 9

Season 9 changed when viewers watched the show. After its familiar Friday-night run, Shark Tank moved to Sundays, opening with a two-hour premiere on October 1, 2017. ABC also announced an expanded guest lineup: Richard Branson, Sara Blakely, Bethenny Frankel, Rohan Oza, and Alex Rodriguez. These were guest appearances alongside the existing Sharks, not a replacement of the core cast.

The combination of a new night and new investors made this a notable transition season. The businesses included The Original Comfy's wearable blanket, Stasher's reusable silicone bags, and RokBlok's miniature record player. RokBlok produced a particularly unusual negotiation: Robert Herjavec's televised agreement was to buy the whole company rather than take a minority stake. As with other on-air agreements, that should not be confused with confirmation that the transaction later closed.
