Crispy Cones is preparing to bring its rotisserie-grilled pastry cones to San Antonio. A newly registered Texas construction project identifies a planned shop at Northwoods, adding another Texas destination to the dessert brand's expansion plans. There is no announced opening date yet, but the filing gives local fans a location and a proposed construction schedule to follow.
Also in this update: ABC has released the opening episode details for Shark Tank Season 18, including the pitches coming on premiere night and Steven Bartlett's guest debut the following week.
Where Is Crispy Cones Opening in San Antonio?
The planned shop is at 18130 San Pedro Avenue, Suite 100. A Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing registered September 21 describes a 1,233-square-foot tenant finish-out at Northwoods, with an estimated construction cost of $100,000. That figure covers the registered construction project; it should not be read as the total cost of opening a Crispy Cones franchise.
The state project record lists October 1, 2026, as the scheduled start and February 1, 2027, as the scheduled completion. February 1 is a construction target, not a confirmed grand-opening date. The record currently identifies the project as registered, rather than confirming that work has begun.
What Now San Antonio reported on September 23 that Adniel Orense confirmed he is the franchise owner behind the location. He described the project as being in its early stages. Its report also stated that an opening date had not been announced.
What to Expect, and Where Texas Fits
The cone itself is the distinguishing feature. According to Crispy Cones, fresh dough is grilled rotisserie-style, coated with cinnamon sugar or a specialty powder, and filled with a choice of spread, soft-serve ice cream, fruit, and other toppings. It is a pastry cone rather than the usual wafer or waffle shell.
San Antonio would add to an existing Texas presence. The company's Conroe location has an official store page with operating hours and ordering options, while Austin is listed as coming soon in its location directory. Those are different stages of expansion: Conroe is serving customers, Austin remains an announced location, and San Antonio has a registered construction project.
A New Virginia Shop Has Already Opened
There is also a completed opening to report this month. Crispy Cones began its grand-opening weekend in Brambleton, Virginia, on September 18, according to The Burn, which attended a preview event the previous evening. The shop is at the Bram Quarter development in Loudoun County.
The company's own Brambleton page lists 23710 Schooler Plaza, Suite 125, along with regular hours and pickup and delivery links. Its directory now lists both Brambleton and Carytown in Virginia. While San Antonio customers are waiting for an opening announcement, the Brambleton location shows another part of the franchise's expansion moving from plans to an operating shop.
Another Chapter After Shark Tank
Jeremy and Kaitlyn Carlson appeared on Season 14, Episode 17, which aired March 17, 2023. They asked for $200,000 for 10% of Crispy Cones and accepted Barbara Corcoran's on-air offer of $200,000 for 20%. The company's own account credits the partnership and television exposure with helping it expand beyond its Idaho and Utah roots.
We previously covered the brand's earlier openings in our Crispy Cones and Cinnaholic franchise update. These September developments add two specific milestones: a new Virginia shop and a documented San Antonio project.
For San Antonio, the next useful update will be a confirmed opening date. Until then, Northwoods is a planned location with a construction schedule—not a shop that is ready to visit.
Season 18: What to Expect in the Opening Episodes
Away from Crispy Cones' expansion, ABC's latest episode announcements give viewers a more specific preview of Season 18. We already covered the broader casting changes in our Season 18 premiere and Sharks guide. The new details are which guests appear when, and what the entrepreneurs will bring into the Tank.
September 30: MrBeast and Jeff Housenbold in 'Beast Mode.' ABC's premiere listing starts at 9:02 p.m. EDT. The pitches cover a do-it-yourself wedding-video service, a caulking tool shaped like a finger, a ball using artificial intelligence, and mystery boxes containing returned merchandise.
September 30: Erin and Sara Foster in 'Favorite Daughters.' The second episode follows at 10:01 p.m. EDT. Its lineup includes an electrically powered stroller wagon, a ball designed for indoor play, facial oil made with kelp, and a leggings liner made without plastic.
October 7: Steven Bartlett makes his guest Shark debut. ABC announced 'Diary of a Shark' on September 25, scheduling it for 10:01 p.m. EDT. Bartlett will hear pitches for a dog leash with an anchor, cashew milk containing electrolytes, a portable hydration pouch, and a single-use heated vest.
ABC lists next-day Hulu streaming for all three episodes. These are previews, not deal results; the announcements do not reveal which businesses land investments.
